DESIGNING A STOOL

I designed a collection of six stools; three are standalone seats, two are benches, and one is a pair of bar stools. The benches and the bar stools are interlocking pieces of furniture that can be constructed or deconstructed. The three standalone seats were created by removing sections of the body of the seat, in order to reveal cavities where interlocking could take place. Lucid Machine Art was responsible for CNC-ing the full-sized prototype of Stool Concept 1.In this project, I learned how to map wooden textures and grain onto surfaces using the Keyshot rendering program. I also learned how to generate orthographic projections in Rhino, and finally learned how to create miniature CNC-ed models by myself, and by working with a manufacturer.
